Burney, CA ➡️ Sparks, NV

Yesterday was day 4 of 4K; we added another 10 miles to our total personal mileages, and we crossed the state line into Nevada. We were welcomed by another incredibly kind and generous host, United Methodist Church in Sparks, who had lots of fresh fruit and snacks waiting for us, which was amazing. It was hot, but the heat wasn’t nearly as bad as a couple of days before. A lot of our route was also nice and flat for most of the miles, although at a much higher elevation than most of us are used to (4,000-5,000 feet). We are staying in Sparks, Nevada for two nights because of a service day, so I can’t wait to get to explore the area.

The views and people we continue to meet and connect with every day just seem to be getting more and more incredible, so I can’t wait for the next few days!

I am a 2019 graduate of Davidson College (B.S. in psychology), where I also played Division I field hockey.  I am planning on going into the medical field, and will be applying to graduate schools to pursue a career as a nurse or physician assistant after 4K.
