Iowa City, IA

Our last real rest day (we have a few more service days, but no more complete rest days) was another nice day in Iowa. We slept in, had a lovely brunch provided to us by our host, and had a restful afternoon. A bunch of us went to a running store (Iowa Running Company) later in the afternoon, where we talked with the store owner and employees, all of whom seem to be big runners. They were so supportive of our journey and even donated $100 to our team fundraiser (and we got some dog loving from the store dog, which made our day).

After a fun day of hanging out with teammates and taking it easy, I was able to meet my sister for dinner in Muscatine, IA, since she was in the area for her job with CBS Sports. It was great to be able to see Elizabeth, and it made me excited for Chicago in a couple of days - I will get to see both my sister and my mom. Even though it's only been about a month since I last saw them, I feel like I have experienced so much in the meantime and have so much to share. We're all excited for Chicago, but first we'll have to run to Rockford, IL.

I am a 2019 graduate of Davidson College (B.S. in psychology), where I also played Division I field hockey.  I am planning on going into the medical field, and will be applying to graduate schools to pursue a career as a nurse or physician assistant after 4K.
