Mitchell, SD ➡️ Sioux Falls, SD

Yesterday was day 23, and we ran from Mitchell, SD to Sioux Falls, SD. It was a beautiful day and very short mileage - we each only ran six miles, which is much less than usual, so it was a nice break. We got to Sioux Falls pretty early in the afternoon, which left plenty of time for much-needed naps. The lovely members of Memorial Lutheran Church provided us with a delicious dinner and a ton of dessert, so it was a great day.

After we all ate way too much, we had our "4K prom" at the church. Our dates were our running partners for the day; one person out of each pair had been told who their partner was, so half of us had the task of prom-posing to our partners and the other half of us were surprised with their prom-posal. I had the task of asking my running partner, Emily, to prom. For our outfits, we all went to Goodwill and grabbed outfits; my running partner/date and I found some old nightgowns. It was a fun night before a rest day and reminded us all of our high school proms.

As if we hadn't already eaten enough food, we finished out the day with a trip to Dairy Queen.
