Broadus, MT ➡️ Rapid City, SD

Yesterday was day 18; we each ran 12 miles to get from Broadus, MT to Rapid City, SD. Luckily we made it most of the day without storms, but it looks like we’re finally hitting some bad weather after almost 3 weeks of perfect weather.

Everything has pretty much looked the same for the past 5 days or so - lots of pastures, cows, rolling green hills. Quite a few people are starting to get to a point where nagging injuries are getting worse and keeping them from completing all of their mileage for the day, so I’m hoping to stay healthy and injury-free for as long as possible! Besides some tightness and expected soreness, I’ve been feeling fine (don’t worry Mom). We’ve each run about 38 miles in the past 3 days, which is definitely the most mileage I’ve ever done in that amount of time, so today’s rest day is definitely nice. Can’t wait to see Mt. Rushmore and hang out at our host for the day. A couple of people’s parents are in town and are getting us a couple of meals, which is awesome! After going through a few days of limited food due to lack of donations, it’s so nice to have access to healthy food today!
