West Yellowstone, MT ➡️ Bozeman, MT

Today I was in the host van again, so instead of running I went around to restaurants and stores in Bozeman to get food donations for our team’s meals. It actually worked out pretty well since I was feeling a little sick this morning. An extra day off was nice, but I’m ready to run tomorrow!

Asking for food donations can be fun, sometimes awkward, and always a learning experience. It’s fun to get to explain what we’re doing to random store managers or owners, and a lot of times we are met with support and interest. Some places are very willing to donate and get excited about our cause. Many times, the people we ask for donations have cancer stories of their own or of loved ones, and we have learned the names of many more people for whom we can run.

Asking for food donations can also be a bit awkward and very humbling; there are also many times we are met with confusion or lack of willingness to give, which can definitely be understandable, but those who are genuine in their interest and generosity in donating have shown us some of the best in humanity.

We are, of course, always so thankful for any donations we can get. Today we were able to secure a good amount of food for lunch, dinner, and tomorrow’s breakfast thanks to kind people in Bozeman, MT.

Can’t wait to run more miles tomorrow!
